2002:
15-Alex Steen over Jesse Niinimaki
31-Trevor Daley over Jeff Droun-Deslauriers

The Edmonton Oilers land a Stud defenseman in Duncan Keith and a really good top 4 defenseman in Trevor Daley;
Alex Steen will be a great Top 6 forward for the Oilers and Jarret Stoll could be a great 3rd line center.
2003:
22-Patrice Bergeron over Marc-Antoine Pouliot
51-Corey Crawford over Colin McDonald
184-Dustin Byfuglien over Dragan Umicevic

The Oilers get a top line center in Patrice Bergeron, who will turn into one of the premier two way centers in the league;

Ben Bishop will join Corey Crawford and Jaroslav Halak in the pipeline and its possible that he could be the best out of the three.

This Oilers walk away from this draft with two future all stars in Logan Couture and Max Pacioretty,
as well as two very solid players in Mikael Backlund and Jake Muzzin.
2008:

133-Cam Atkinson over Philippe Cornet
162-Jason Demers over Teemu Hartikainen
The Oilers fared well in this draft adding two very good right wingers in Jordan Eberle and Cam Atkinson, which adds to the depth at that position;
Edmonton also added more depth on defense with the additions of TJ Brodie and Jason Demers.
2009:

40-Robin Lehner over Anton Lander
82-Casey Cizikas over Cameron Abney

Edmonton Oilers really strengthen the defense with the additions of Ryan Ellis and Mattias Ekholm;

Edmonton improve their depth at the Wings adding Jonathan Huberdeau to be to the top line Left winger and both Saad and Rakell are flex wingers.
Jordan Binnington is another goaltending prospect for the future, which ensures that both Crawford and Halak will be traded.
2012:

The Oilers add a future all star defenseman in Morgan Reilly and another top 4 defenseman in Esa Lindell;
they also add some nice depth players in Chris Tierney and Andreas Athanasiou.
Mike Green, Jarret Stoll become free agents in the 2012 offseason
The Oilers need to make a few trades due to salary cap reasons:
Edmonton Oilers trade Paul Stastny, Alex Steen, Jeff Petry to St.Louis Blues for Jaden Schwartz, Kevin Shattenkirk, Ryan Reaves, 2nd round pick 2013 (Tyler Bertuzzi).
The Oilers also trade Jaroslav Halak, TJ Brodie, Ryan Callahan to the Phoenix Coyotes for Mikkel Boedker, 2nd round pick 2014 (Christian Dvorak).
James Neal, Jason Demers are traded to the New York Islanders for Michael Graner, 1st round pick 2014 (Adrian Kempe).
By the 2012-13 season, the Edmonton Oilers have assembled a powerhouse of a team, which could have potential to be a dynasty.
