2024 Offseason Preview ft. St. Louis Blues

The St. Louis Blues just missed out on the playoffs again in the 2023-24 season, and finished the season with a total of 92 points, a 43-33-6 record; St. Louis is one of those teams that has no direction, as they are stuck with a lot of aging players with bad contracts and are stuck in mediocracy unless they can find a way to move some of those contracts. Moving forward the Blues' primary goals should be trying to unload their bad contracts to gain picks and cap space and retool through the draft.  St. Louis has 8 draft picks in the 2024 NHL draft, this is who they should select. 2024 NHL Draft: 16-Michael Hage (C) 48-Spencer Gill (D) 56-Carson Wetsch (RW) 81-Timur Kol (D) 94-Hagen Burrows (LW) 113-Felix Lacerte (C) 145-Dawson Cowan (G) 209-Jan Golcic (D) 211-Maxim Velikov (RW) Though no big names jump out at you, this group of prospects is pretty solid and could play a vital role on the team a few years down the road. Retooling the Prospect pool is a long process, but the cr...

Fantasy Hockey Advice Defenseman to Drop

Here are some players you should drop in Fantasy Hockey: Seth Jones Although Seth Jones is having a solid year, he is playing on the worst teams in the league, which has resulted in him getting the worst +/- in the league. Jones has 1 Goal, 8 assists, and 5 PPP but is a -21, which in some leagues may be bad enough to offset his offensive production. I don't see Seth Jones turning it around this season, so you should consider dropping Seth Jones if you still have him on your team. John Klingberg John Klingberg has decent offensive production, with 4 goals, 7 assists, and 3 PPP but is a -15 because he plays for a terrible Anaheim Ducks team. Unless Klingberg is traded to a contender, I don't see him having significant fantasy contributions, and you can definitely find a better replacement on the waiver wire than him. Cam Fowler Cam Fowler is having a decent season so far this season, with 4 goals, 12 assists, and 7 PPP but is a -9 because he plays for a bad Anaheim Ducks team. I...

Why St.Louis Blues should consider Rebuilding

The St.Louis Blues are a team that is stuck in no man's land; they aren't nearly good enough to be legit contenders, yet they aren't entirely bad enough to be a lottery team. So the most logical thing to do is to move a couple of veteran players and build from the draft. This is how I would rebuild the St.Louis Blues. At the 2022 Trade Deadline, two major trades are made: St.Louis Blues trade Vladimir Tarasenko to the Carolina Hurricanes for Nino Niederreiter, Ryan Suzuki, 2023 2nd round pick. If the Hurricanes make the playoffs, the 2nd round pick becomes a 1st round pick. This is a great team for both teams; Carolina gets a top 6 scorer to play on the first line with Aho and Svechnikov, while the Blues get a top 6 forward in Nino Niederreiter, a solid prospect in Ryan Suzuki, and a draft pick. The Blues also trade David Perron to the Toronto Maple Leafs for Nick Ritchie, Joseph Duszak, 1st round pick '22. St.Louis retains 1 million of David Perron's contract. Si...
