What Winnipeg Jets Need to do this Offseason

The Winnipeg Jets are a team that is no man's land right because they aren't good enough to contend yet they aren't bad enough to be in the lottery. So what they should do is trade away some of their veterans for prospects and picks to start the rebuild. This is what the Winnipeg Jets need to do this offseason. Before the 2022 Draft, a few trades are made Winnipeg Jets trade Blake Wheeler to the New York Rangers for Kappo Kakko, Nils Lundkvist, and 2023 1st round pick. This is a win win trade for both teams, and it gives Blake Wheeler a chance to go win a Stanley Cup. Mark Scheifele is traded to the Anaheim Ducks for Isac Lundestrom, Jacob Perreault, 2022 1st round pick. This trade helps improve both teams significantly, and helps the Jets rebuild quickly. Adam Lowry, Nate Schmidt are traded to the Dallas Stars for Ty Dellandrea, a 2022 2nd-round pick. The Jets unload Nate Schmidt and Adam Lowry's contracts for Ty Dellandrea and a 2nd round pick. Brenden Dillon is trade...

2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs: What North Division Teams Need to do to Advance

This is an extension of Podcast 112: What teams need to do to advance in the 2021 Stanley Cup playoffs; Here are my thoughts on what needs to be done for North Division teams to advance. Toronto Maple Leafs vs Montreal Canadiens The Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens have a historic rivalry in the Stanley Cup playoffs, and they look to renew it in the 1st round of the 2021 playoffs. Contrary to popular belief, I don't think this will be a cakewalk for the Toronto Maple Leafs, because the Montreal Canadiens are a tough team to play against. Toronto should be aware that Montreal in the playoffs is a completely different team than Montreal in the regular season. Toronto is obviously the better team on paper, but Montreal is not as bad as most people think. The Maple Leafs are top 6 heavy, while Montreal has tremendous depth and role 4 lines and 3 D pairs. It has been said before that the teams that do well in the postseason have better role players, if that is the case then Mo...

How Winnipeg Jets can win their first Stanley Cup

The Winnipeg Jets are a borderline playoff team right now, but if they want to win a Stanley Cup, they will need to make a few changes. This is how I would turn the Winnipeg Jets into a Stanley Cup caliber team.  Before the 2021 Draft, two trades are made: Winnipeg Jets trade Paul Stastny to the Detroit Red Wings for 3rd rd pick '21. The Jets don't need Paul Stastny anymore because they intend on playing Pierre Luc Dubois at center for the upcoming season. The Jets also trade Mathieu Perreault, Derek Forbort, Trevor Lewis to the Calgary Flames for Joakim Nordstrom, Brett Ritchie, 4th rd pick '22. Winnipeg bulks up with the additions of Joakim Nordstrom and Brett Ritchie, and they get a 4th round pick as well. Winnipeg Jets lose Dylan DeMelo to the Seattle Kraken in the expansion draft. 2021 draft 18-Corson Ceulemans 50-Sean Behrens 82-Shai Buium 95-Kalle Vaisanen The Winnipeg Jets greatly bolster their defense with the additions of Ceulemans, Behrens, and Buium. How to Improve Winnipeg Jets

The Winnipeg Jets have a solid team, but if they want to make the playoffs in the newly formed All-Canadian Division, they need to improve their roster. The Jets should focus on improving their defense, their offensive depth, and prospect pool. The Winnipeg Jets start by making two huge blockbuster trades: Winnipeg Jets trade Patrik Laine to the Montreal Canadiens for Jonathan Drouin, Philip Danault, Victor Mete, Artturi Lekhonen, 1st round pick 2021.  This trade is beneficial for both sides because the Habs get Patrik Laine, a stud goal scorer, while the Jets get Jonathan Drouin, Philip Danault, two Mete, and Lehkonen, solid role players, and a 1st round pick. Winnipeg also trades Adam Lowry, Nathan Beaulieu, and a 2021 2nd round pick to the Buffalo Sabres for Brandon Montour. This is a good trade for both teams because the Jets get Brandon Montour, a stable two-way defenseman, while the Sabres get Adam Lowry, a valuable role player, Nathan Beaulieu, and a 2nd round pick. At the t...

WHAT IF WINNIPEG JETS TRADE PATRIK LAINE

Patrik Laine has been popping up on rumor mills a lot recently and the Winnipeg Jets haven't turned them down, so lets how the Winnipeg Jets would look like if they trade Patrik Laine and how it affects the team down the road. Winnipeg Jets trade Patrik Laine to the Philadelphia Flyers for Travis Konecny, Morgan Frost, Shayne Gostisbehere, 1st round pick 2021. The Flyers get a elite young goal scorer in Patrik Laine, who would look great on a line with Claude Giroux and Sean Couturier; On the flip side, the Jets get a very good top 6 forward in Travis Konecny, solid puck moving defenseman in Shayne Gostisbehere, a prospect in Morgan Frost and a 1st round pick. Winnipeg Jets sign Cole Perfetti, Daniel Torgersson to Entry Level Contracts. All other RFAs are re-signed by the Winnipeg Jets. Winnipeg Jets sign TJ Brodie to a 6 year deal worth 5 million per season, Mattias Janmark to a 3 year deal worth 2.75 million per season. The Jets add a top 4 defenseman in TJ Brodie as well as a b...
