This is a Quick update on the Conference Finals Matchups in the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Game 2 went to Overtime again, and resulted in yet another Matthew Tkachuk GWG, this time the goal was scored just 1:51 into overtime on the powerplay. Sergei Bobrovsky was the story of game 3, as he made 32 saves to shutout Carolina, 1-0 to give the Florida Panthers a commanding 3-0 lead in the series. With 4.9 seconds left in the 3rd period and Florida on the Man Advantage due to a Jordan Staal tripping penalty, Matthew Tkachuk scored his 3rd Game winning goal of series to send the Panthers on the the Stanley Cup Finals. The Florida Panthers are back in the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since 1996, and they have had by far the toughest path to it having to...

What Florida Panthers Need to do to Remain a Contender

The Florida Panthers juggernaut of an offense last season, but not after losing a few key players in free agency and trading for Matthew Tkachuk, it seems like the Florida Panthers aren't as good a team heading into next season as they were in 2021-22. Here is what the Florida Panthers need to do to remain a contender. Florida Panthers make a few trades: Florida Panthers trade Sergei Bobrovsky to the LA Kings for Jonathan Quick, Gabriel Vilardi, 3rd round pick '23.   Florida retains 50% of Bobrovsky's contract. The Panthers are able to move Sergei Bobrovsky but they have to retain 50% of the contract; this is the best that Florida can hope for with a deal involving Bobrovsky. Florida also trades Anthony Duclair and Brandon Montour to the Dallas Stars for Jani Hakanpaa,  '24 2nd. The Panthers move some salary of their books, while at the same time adding some depth and physicality to their blueline. Florida Panthers acquire Bryan Little from Arizona Coyotes for Aleksi He...

What Florida Panthers Need to do in the Offseason

The Florida Panthers have 10 free agents this offseason but only have 3 million in cap space left to re-sign those free agents. So if they are to re-sign any of those free agents, they will have to be clever and move around some big contracts. This is what the Florida Panthers should do in the offseason. Before the 2022 Draft, a few trades are made Florida Panthers trade Sergei Bobrovsky to the Edmonton Oilers for Jesse Puljujarvi, Carter Savoie, and a 2023 3rd-round pick . If the Oilers make the Conference Finals, the 3rd-round pick becomes a 1st-round pick. Florida retains 50% of Bobrovsky's contract. Even though Bobrovsky had a phenomenal season this year, it is best to trade him now because his contract will only get worse as he gets older. Claude Giroux is traded to the Ottawa Senators for 3rd round pick '22. If Giroux Signs with the Senators, the Panthers get a 2023 2nd-round pick. Claude Giroux has been linked with Ottawa for a while now, so Florida trades his rights to...

How Florida Panthers can win their First Stanley Cup

The Florida Panthers have never won a Stanley Cup in the existence of their franchise; the closest they came to winning a Stanley Cup was in 1996 when they lost in the Stanley Cup Finals to the Colorado Avalanche. If the Florida Panthers want to win a Stanley Cup, they should make these moves. At the expansion draft, one trade is made: Florida Panthers trade Keith Yandle to the Seattle Kraken for a 2021 2nd round pick, 2021 3rd rd pick.  If the Kraken make the playoffs, the Panthers get an additional 2022 2nd rd pick. Keith Yandle would have to waive his no-move clause, but I think he would be he would get more ice time with the Seattle Kraken, who could use a veteran defenseman like Yandle. Florida Panthers lose Chris Driedger to the Seattle Kraken in the expansion draft. Before the 2021 draft, two trades are made: Florida Panthers trade Anton Stralman to the Columbus Blue Jackets for a 2021 4th round pick. The Panthers unload Stralman's contract, while the Blue Jackets get...

WHAT IF FLORIDA PANTHERS RELOCATED

There have been rumors floating around for a while now that the Florida Panthers were going to be relocated to somewhere in Canada; if the Florida Panthers were to be relocated, they should be relocated to Quebec, because they still have a passionate hockey fanbase. To prepare the Panthers for their move up north, they need to make the team look better on paper. Before the 2021 draft, the Panthers make two trade: Florida Panthers acquire Vladimir Tarasenko from the St.Louis Blues for Anthony Duclair, Owen Tippett, Henrik Borgstrom, and a 2021 1st round pick. The Panthers get Vladimir Tarasenko, a superstar sniper, while the Blues get Anthony Duclair, a top 6 winger as well as Owen Tippett and Henrik Borgstrom, two top prospects, and a 1st round pick. The Panthers also trade Frank Vatrano, Vinnie Hinostroza, Anton Stralman, 2nd rd pick '21 to the Carolina Hurricanes for Nino Neiderreiter, Brock McGinn. The Panthers get Nino Niederreiter, a solid top 6 forward, and Brock McGinn, a s...

What If Florida Panthers Drafted Correctly in the Last 5 Years

The Florida Panthers have showed over the last decade why they are a losing organization but their draft success in last 5 years is especially bad. If the Florida Panthers drafted correctly in the last 5 years, they would have been a contender by now. 2015  11-Matt Barzal over Lawson Crouse 102-Ethan Bear over Denis Malgin 132-Kirill Kaprizov over Karch Bachman Matt Barzal and Kirill Kaprizov will some much needed secondary scoring to the team and Ethan Bear can be a solid top 4 defenseman. 2016 23-Tage Thompson over Henrik Borgstrom 38-Sam Girard over Adam Mascherin Sam Girard is a solid young top 4 defenseman, while Tage Thompson can grew to be a good power forward 2017 10-Robert Thomas over Owen Tippett Robert Thomas is much better then Owen Tippett at this point in their careers. 2018 No Change in draft picks 2019 52-Nic Robertson over Vladislav Kolyachonok The Panthers still draft Spencer Knight but draft Nic Robertson over Vladislav Kolyachonok, which is a major u...

REDRAFTING FLORIDA PANTHERS FOR A DECADE (2000-2010)

The Florida Panthers were an absolute disaster during 2000s because they failed at drafting good players despite having high picks nearly every year. If the Florida Panthers drafted well during those years, they could have perhaps build a playoff caliber team or even a contendening team. In this blog, i will redraft the Florida Panthers from 2000-2010s. Rules for the redraft: Must select a player in every round Must draft 4 players in every draft 2000: 58-Paul Martin over Vladimir Sapozhnikov 77-Lubomir Visnovsky over Robert Fried 115-John Michael Liles over Chris Eade 120-Henrik Lundqvist over David Parley This draft wasn't very good but the Florida Panthers still manage to draft by far the best player in the draft in Henrik Lundqvist as well as 3 good defenseman in Paul Martin, Lubomir Visnovsky and John Michael Liles. 2001: 4-Mikko Koivu over Stephen Weiss 34-Mike Cammalleri over Greg Watson 68-Tomas Pleckanec over Grant McNeill 169-Jussi Jokinen ove...
