How Nashville Predators can Win their First Stanley Cup

The Nashville Predators have never won a Stanley Cup in their Franchise history, the closest they came to winning a Championship was in 2017 when they lost in the Stanley Cup Finals to the Pittsburgh Penguins. This is how the Nashville Predators could become Stanley Cup Champions. Before the expansion draft, the Nashville Predators make a huge trade. Nashville Predators trade Mikael Granlund, Rocco Grimaldi to the Seattle Kraken for 2021 2nd round pick, 2022 4th round pick. The Predators get a few draft picks in exchange for Mikael Granlund, who was going to be a UFA, and Rocco Grimaldi, who was seldomly used last season. Nashville Predators lose Erik Haula to the Seattle Kraken in the expansion draft. Before the 2021 draft, one trade is made. Nashville Predators trade Mattias Ekholm to the Boston Bruins for Urho Vaakanainen, Jeremy Lauzon, Nick Ritchie, 2021 1st round pick. REBUILDING 2017-18 OTTAWA SENATORS

Coming off a successful run in the 2017 playoffs, the Ottawa Senators thought they were legit contenders in the Eastern Conference, so instead of rebuilding like they should have, they traded for Matt Duchene, which is now in hindsight one of the worst trades in recent memory. The rebuild starts at the 2017 draft, where a few trades take place: Ottawa Senators trade Erik Karlsson, Kyle Turris to the Carolina Hurricanes for Justin Faulk, Elias Lindholm, 1st round pick 2017, 1st round pick 2018. The Carolina Hurricanes wanted to add that true number 1 defenseman and their aren't much better than Erik Karlsson. Kyle Turris will be a solid 3rd line center for them behind Sebastian Aho and Jordan Staal. On the Flip side, the Senators get Justin Faulk, a top 4 defenseman who can step in and fill the void offensively and Elias Lindholm a very talented young player; the Sens also get 2 first round picks, which can be used to pick a core player.  The Senators also trade Mike Hoffman,...

REDRAFTING 2009 DRAFT

The 2009 NHL draft was highlighted with superstars such as John Tavares and Victor Hedman but there were other great players taken later in the draft, such as Ryan O'Reilly, Tyson Barrie, Mattias Ekholm, Anders Lee and Mike Hoffman. If the 2009 draft was redrafted, the landscape of the NHL would be very different. *Check out my previous redrafts on my blog* 1. New York Islanders-(C) John Tavares Original pick: John Tavares New York Islanders still select John Tavares, as he is clearly the best player available in the draft. From the first game with Islanders to his last game with the club, he was dominant, and carried a mostly pedestrian team 3 times. Tavares still managed to put up 272 goals and 621 points n 669 despite never playing with another star player on the Islanders. 2. Tampa Bay Lightning-(D) Victor Hedman Original pick: Victor Hedman Tampa Bay Lightning still select Victor Hedman because he is still head and shoulders the 2nd best player in the 2009 ...
