REDRAFTING LA KINGS FOR A DECADE (2002-2012)

The Los Angeles Kings had some miserable drafts from in the 2000s and because of that they missed out on building a potential dynasty. If the LA Kings were redrafted for a decade, they could have potentially won more than 2 stanley cups.

18-Cam Ward over Denis Grebeshkov

11-Travis Zajac over Lauri Tukonen

94-Johan Franzen over Paul Baier

2005:

11-Anze Kopitar

60-Kris Russell over TJ Fast

The Kings will still draft Kopitar and Quick but will also draft two solid defensive defenseman in Kris Russell and Anton Stralman.

2006:

11-Claude Giroux over Jonathan Bernier

17-Nick Foligno over Trevor Lewis

48-Artem Anisimov over Joey Ryan

144-Alex Biega over Martin Nolet

The Kings add a star forward in Claude Giroux and two very good top 6 forwards in Foligno and Anisimov. Alex Biega will likely be a depth defenseman but that was the best option at that point in the draft.

2007:

4-Logan Couture over Thomas Hickey

61-Wayne Simmonds

95-Alec Martinez

137-Jake Muzzin over Joshua Turnbull

The LA Kings still draft Wayne Simmonds and Alec Martinez because they are important to being a contending team. Logan Couture will likely be the 2nd line center behind Anze Kopitar and Jake Muzzin, who will likely be a top 4 defenseman.

The LA Kings aren't in need of Mike Richards, so they don't make the trade for him, which means they will keep Brayden Schenn and Wayne Simmonds. Also, since the Kings already are have enough center depth, they don't trade for Jeff Carter.

49-William Karlsson over Christopher Gibson

80-Johnny Gaudreau over Andy Andreoff

Colin Miller is a useful depth defenseman as well but is mostly going to be trade bait because of how deep the D core is.

The LA Kings allow Zach Parise to leave in free agency, because the Kings just can't afford to keep him.

In the 2012 offseason, the LA Kings must make some trades due to salary cap reasons:

LA Kings trade Shea Weber, Travis Zajac, Jakob Silfverberg to the Edmonton Oilers for Taylor Hall, Jeff Petry, 2nd round pick 2013 (Tyler Bertuzzi), 1st round pick 2014 (Dylan Larkin).

In this Mega Blockbuster trade, the Oilers get Shea Weber, a stud defenseman, something they desperately need and Travis Zajac, a very solid two way center. The Oilers will also get Jakob Silfverberg, a good two way player, who is a capable goal scorer. On the flip side, the LA Kings get Taylor Hall, a star caliber player, Jeff Petry, an under the radar stud offensive defenseman as well as two 1st round picks.

LA also trades Cam Ward, Kris Russell, Johan Franzen to the Minnesota Wild for Darcy Kuemper, 2nd round pick 2013 (Brett Pesce), 1st round pick 2014 (Alex Tuch).

The Wild get a starting very good starting goalie in Cam Ward that will take the pressure of Niklas Backstrom and two very solid role players in Franzen and Nielsen. On the flip side, the Kings get Darcy Kuemper, a good backup that has starter potential and 2 future draft picks.

Patrice Bergeron, Johnny Boychuk, Ryan Callahan are traded to the Ottawa Senators for Mika Zibanejad, Mike Hoffman, 1st round pick 2013 (Shea Theodore).

In this mega deal, the Ottawa Senators get one of the best centers in the league in Patrice Bergeron, Johnny Boychuk, a solid two way defenseman and Ryan Callahan. On the flip side, the LA Kings get Mika Zibanejad, a promising young center with star potential, a lethal goal scorer in Mike Hoffman and a 1st round pick.

Corey Perry, James Wisniewski are traded to the Dallas Stars for Reilly Smith, Brenden Dillon, 1st round pick 2013 (Josh Morrissey), 1st round pick 2015 (Brock Boeser).

In this blockbuster trade, the Dallas Stars get Corey Perry, a former MVP and one of the league's best power forwards and James Wisniewski, a solid top 6 defenseman. The LA Kings get Reilly Smith, a gritty top 6 winger, Brenden Dillon a top 6 defenseman and 2 first round picks.

Artem Anisimov, Alec Martinez, Nick Foligno are traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets for Jonathan Marchessault, Derick Brassard, 2nd round pick 2014 (Brandon Montour).

The Columbus Blue jackets get two terrific two way forwards in Foligno and Anisimov and a very valuable two way defenseman in Alec Martinez. On the flip side, the Blue Jackets get Jonathan Marchessault to pair with Karlsson and Reilly Smith and Derick Brassard, very good clutch time performer.

Frans Nielsen, Troy Brouwer, Nikita Gusev, Colin Miller are traded the Colorado Avalanche for for Jamie McGinn, 2nd round pick 2015 (Roope Hintz)

The Colorado Avalanche get Frans Nielsen, a good two way center, Troy Brouwer, a valuable role player with playoff experience and Colin Miller, a top 6 defenseman. Avs will also get Nikita Gusev, who is a really Talented Russian Winger, but due to the talent in the system, he would never crack the Kings lineup. Fantasy Hockey Forwards to Trade For

Here is a list of Players who you should consider trading for in Fantasy Hockey. Tage Thompson Tage Thompson had very high expectations of him heading into this season but has been a massive disappointment to this point in the season with only 7 goals, 8 assists, 4 PPP, 60 SOG, and 99 FW. Thompson has been better after coming back from injury and you would think that he is going to eventually start putting points in bunches. Because of how bad Thompson's statline is this season. it would be a good idea to trade for him because you may not have to give up a lot in return.  Elias Lindholm Elias Lindholm is another player who has had a slow start to the season with only 7 goals, 10 assists, 3 PPP, 68 SOG, and 297 FW so far this season. Lindholm is definitely going to want to play better if he wants to increase his value for his next contract and also showcase himself for a trade at the deadline. If Lindholm gets dealt to a contending team, his fantasy value would drastically improve b

TIPS FOR DECIDING WHO TO KEEP FOR KEEPER/DYNASTY LEAGUES

Keeper fantasy leagues are a variation of traditional fantasy sports leagues where participants are allowed to keep a certain number of players from their previous season's roster onto their team for the upcoming season. The number of players that can be kept, as well as the specific rules regarding keeping players, vary from league to league and are typically determined by the league commissioner or by a set of agreed-upon rules among league members. In a keeper league, the kept players usually come with a cost, such as forfeiting a specific draft pick in the upcoming draft or having to pay a predetermined fee. This adds a strategic element to the game, as managers must decide which players to keep based on their performance, potential, and value relative to the cost of keeping them. Keeper leagues often provide a deeper level of engagement and strategy compared to standard fantasy leagues because managers need to consider long-term player development and roster management beyond

FANTASY HOCKEY WAIVER WIRE PLAYERS TO PICKUP

Here are some players you should pickup in Fantasy Hockey, sorted by position. Center Colton Sissons Colton Sissons is one of the best 4th line centers in the league, but in fantasy hockey, he could be even more valuable than he actually is in real life because of what he provides in the peripheral categories. So far this season Sissions has 5 goals, 1 PPP, 1 SHP, 12 PIM, 20 SOG, 89 FW, 15 hits, and 9 blocks. This is a terrific stat line and although you can't count on Sissons scoring a ton, he will fill out the FW, Hits, and blocks usually. Sissons is owned in 6% of fantasy leagues, snag him up while you can. Nick Bjugstad Nick Bjugstad is having an excellent year so far with the Arizona Coyotes, in fact he has played so well that he earned himself a promotion to play on the 2nd line along with Mattias Maccelli and Lawson Crouse. Bjugstad also gets time on Arizona's 2nd PP unit and 2nd PK unit. Bjugstad may not be a name who stands out to casuals, but his fantasy stat line is
