Disappointing Players in Fantasy Hockey

Brayden Point

Brayden Point is off to a slow start to the 2019-20 campaign; he only has 3 G and 7 Points so far this season.
Last season, Point had 41 G and 92 points and was one of the most reliable fantasy players.
This season is a different story as Point has had the same success so far this season.
If you own Brayden Point, there is no need to panic because he is just off to a slow start.

Taylor Hall

Taylor Hall had very high fantasy expectations heading into this season because the Devils seemed to have a transformed roster and he is on a contract year;
however, Taylor Hall has been a massive disappointment for fantasy owners; he only has 1 G and 7 points so far this season
There is still time for Taylor Hall to turn his season around but temper your expectations because his MVP season was an outlier.

Timo Meier

Timo Meier is off to a very slow start to the season; he only has 2 G and 4 points so far this season.
Last season Meier had 30 G and 66 pts and was a really reliable fantasy option.
If you own Timo Meier, you have to hope that he turns it around sooner than later.

John Klingberg

John Klingberg is having a bad start to the 2019-20 campaign; he only has a 1 G 2 A so far this season.
Klingberg has never finished a season with less than 40 points, so he should eventually turn his season around.
If you own John Klingberg, just be patient and the production will come.

PK Subban

PK Subban is having a subpar start to the season; he only has 1 G and 3 A so far this season.
Subban's production has gone down the last few season but many people believed he would have a bounceback season with the NJ Devils;
unfortunately, that hasn't happened and Subban has been a massive disappointment in fantasy especially cause he was taken so early.
If you own PK Subban in Fantasy, i would try to trade him because i don't see him turning it around unless the Devils make a drastic change on defense.

Carter Hart

Carter Hart had very high hype headed into this season; he was thought of as the future of the Philadelphia Flyers.
However, Hart has struggled mightily at the beginning of the season, leaving many people in doubt of his superstar potential;
Hart has a 2-3 record with a 3.32 GAA and .864 SV% so far this season.
If you want to trade for a goalie, Carter Hart would be a good one to target because of his early struggles.

Players to Trade for in Fantasy Hockey

Sebastian Aho

Sebastian Aho is off to a slow start to the season; he only has 2 G and 1 A so far this season
There is no reason to believe that Aho won't hit at least 70 points this season, so you should trade for him while his value is low.

Claude Giroux

Claude Giroux is off to a very slow start to the season; he only has 4 points and 3 PPP so far this season.
Claude Giroux is a very valuable player in fantasy because he can play all three forward positions.
You can try to trade for him while his value isn't at its highest, cause Giroux usually finishes with at least 80 points.

Phil Kessel

Phil Kessel is off to a slow start to the season; he only has 2 G and 4 pts so far this season.
Kessel is usually a safe bet in fantasy, he is just off to a slow start.
Try to trade for Kessel while his value is low because Kessel is a safe bet to get at least 70 points this season.

John Klingberg

John Klingberg is off to a slow start to the season; he only has a 1 G and 2 A and is a -7 so far this season.
Klingberg is usually a safe bet in fantasy he is just off to a slow start to the season; now is the best chance to trade for Klingberg because his trade value is quite low.

Justin Faulk

Justin Faulk is off to a slow start with the St.Louis Blues; he only has 3 pts and is a -2 so far this season.
Faulk might take some more time to get adjusted to a new system but he will eventually get acclimated.
Justin Faulk would be a great defenseman to get right now because his trade value is pretty low.

Braden Holtby

Braden Holtby is off to a dreadful start to the season; he only has 4 Wins with a 3.60 GAA and .884 SV%.
Now would be the perfect time to trade for Holtby because his value is very low.
Holtby might get less starts now that the Caps have Ilya Samsonov, but he is still a valuable fantasy goalie because Washington is a good team.

Players to pickup in Fantasy Hockey

Marcus Johansson

Marcus Johansson is having a bounceback season and is off to a great start with Buffalo Sabres.
Centering a line with Jeff Skinner and Vladimir Sokotka, Johansson has put up 3 G, 5 Pts and 1 PPP along with 18 FW.
Marcus Johansson could be valuable in a deep league because he is eligible to play Center and LW.

Zach Aston Reese

Zach Aston Reese is a very valuable player to have in a deep league; due to injuries to key players, the Penguins have had to rely on the line of Zach Aston Reese-Teddy Blueger and Brandon Tanev to play heavy minutes.
Aston Reese has 2 G and 4 pts along with 15 SOG, 20 Hits and 6 blks so far this season, which is a really good fantasy statline.

Andre Burakovsky

Andre Burakovsky is off to a great start with the Colorado Avalanche and is major reason why the Avs have a 5-1 record.
Burakovsky has put up 2 G and 5 pts along with 2 GWG so far this season; he has fantasy value in most leagues because he has duel eligiblity on LW and RW.

Sean Walker

Sean Walker has been a plesant surprise for the LA Kings so far this season; he has 2 G, 4 pts, 15 SOG and is a +4.
Walker would be a good pickup if you need a defenseman in a deep league.

Brian Dumoulin

Brian Dumoulin isn't likely to be owned in a standard league but he could be a very valuable defenseman in a deep league.
Dumoulin has 2 pts, 10 SOG, 16 hits, 8 blks and is a +6 so far this season; Dumoulin is a great defenseman to have in a league that counts his and blks.

Joonas Korpisalo

Joonas Korpisalo is actually playing tremendous hockey for the Columbus Blue jackets but its going un-noticed.
Korpisalo has 3 W, a 2.60 GAA and .903 SV% so far this season.
For a team not expected to do well, Korpisalo and the blue jackets are surpassing the expectation set for them.
While Korpisalo is NOT by any means a stud fantasy goalie, he could be a solid 3rd goalie in fantasy.

Players to pickup in Fantasy Hockey

Erik Haula

Erik Haula is off to a great start with the Carolina Hurricanes, having put up 3 G and 2 PPP in his first 4 games.
Haula also has 13 SOG and 41 FW to go along with the 3 Goals and 2 PPP, which is a great fantasy statline.
If your league you league counts Faceoff wins, Haula is worth picking up.

Victor Olofsson

Victor Olofsson is off to a great start to the Season with the Buffalo Sabres, having scored 4 goals in his first 4 games.
Olofsson also had 4 PPP to go along with the 4 goals he has scored this season.
Playing on the Red hot Sabres Powerplay, Olofsson is a must add in any fantasy hockey league especially if you own Jack Eichel.

James Neal

James Neal already 7 Goals so far this season, with 5 of the goals being on the Powerplay
Obviously, James Neal isn't going to be the same player he was in Pittsburgh, but he certainly is capable of getting 25-30 goals.
Playing alongside Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl on the PP makes him a must add in any fantasy league.

Colin Miller

Colin Miller has had  a great start with the Buffalo Sabres, having put up a point in 3 of his first 4 games.
Miller plays on the Buffalo Sabres' 2nd D pair with Rasmus Dahlin and on the 2nd PP unit.
Colin Miller should be a valuable 5th or 6th defenseman in a deep league.

Neal Pionk

Neal Pionk has fit in pretty well with the Winnipeg Jets; he has put up 2 G and 3 points along with 11 hits and 6 blks so far this season
Pionk is paired on the 1st D pair with Josh Morrissey and on the 2nd PP unit.
I wouldn't recommend picking up Pionk in a standard league but he could be a solid 5th or 6th defenseman in a deep league.

James Reimer

James Reimer is off to a great start with the Carolina Hurricanes; he is 2-0 with a 2.42 GAA and a .940 SV%.
While you don't rely on James Reimer to maintain this type of performance for the entire season, he should he be a solid 3rd goalie in a deep league.
If you have Petr Mrazek, it might be worth picking up James Reimer as the Carolina Hurricanes are off to a great start to the season.
