Why Dallas Stars should be Sellers at the Deadline

The Dallas Stars are sitting just outside the final playoff spot in the Western Conference but I think it would be better for them to be sellers at the deadline, so they can rebuild and retool their team a bit. This is why the Dallas Stars should be Sellers and what they should do at the NHL trade deadline. Trades Dallas Stars trade Joe Pavelski, Jani Hakanpaa to the New York Rangers for Filip Chytil, Nils Lundkvist, 2022 1st round pick. Pavelski would add a veteran goal scorer with plenty of playoff experience to a team that is still pretty young; On the Dallas side of the trade, they would get Filip Chytil and Nils Lundkvist, two talented young players and a 1st round pick. Dallas Stars also trade Alex Radulov to the Boston Bruins for Craig Smith, 2022 2nd round pick. If the Bruins make the 2nd round of the playoffs, the 2nd round pick becomes a 1st round pick. Dallas will also retain $1.5 million of Radulov's contract as part of the deal. The Stars sway Radulov for Craig Smith ...

REDRAFTING NEW YORK RANGERS FOR A DECADE (2003-2013)

The New York Rangers struggled to draft during the mid 2000s and into the 2010s, which might be a reason why they never were thought of as a legit contender at the time. If the Rangers had drafted correctly, they might have been able to build a championship caliber team. In this blog, I will be redrafting the New York Rangers for a decade in hopes of turning them into a contending team. 2003: 12-Brent Burns over Hugh Jessiman 50-Corey Crawford over Ivan Baranka 209-Dustin Byfuglien over Dylan Reese 243-Matt Moulson over Jan Marek In the 2003 redraft, the Rangers fare much better than they did originally; they get two star players in Brent Burns and Dustin Byfuglien, they also get a good goalie in Corey Crawford and decent complementary goal scorer in Matt Moulson. 2004: 19-Travis Zajac over Loui Korpikoski 36-Brandon Dubinsky over Darin Olver 48-Alex Goligoski over Dane Byers 73-Alexander Edler over Zdenek Bahensky The Rangers add two very good defenseman in Alex Goligoski and Al...

REDRAFTING 2008 NHL DRAFT

The 2008 NHL draft had plenty of star talent in it including Steven Stamkos, Drew Doughty, Alex Pietrangelo, Erik Karlsson, John Carlson, Roman Josi and Braden Holtby. If there were a redraft of the 2008 draft, the landscape of the league sure would be very different. *Check out my previous blogs for my other Redrafts* 1. Tampa Bay Lightning-(C) Steven Stamkos Original pick: Steven Stamkos Steven Stamkos is still clearly the best player in the 2008 draft because after struggling his rookie year, he turned into one of the elite scorers in the league. Stamkos has scored 25+ goals in every season except his rookie year and in 2016-17 when he suffered a season ending injury; Stamkos had 5 40+ goal seasons, including 2 50+ goal seasons in which he won the Rocket Richard Trophy. It might be surprising to hear this but Steven Stamkos has scored the most points of any player born in the 1990s. 2. LA Kings-(D) Drew Doughty Original pick: Drew Doughty The LA Kings still selec...
