HOW VANCOUVER CANUCKS CAN WIN THEIR FIRST STANLEY CUP

The Vancouver Canucks have been flat-out terrible this season, and they are far from being a Stanley Cup caliber team.

So I will be taking on the Challenge of rebuilding the team in an attempt to bring the first Stanley Cup to Vancouver.

Before the Expansion Draft, the Vancouver Canucks make one trade:

Vancouver Cancuks trade Braden Holtby, Brandon Sutter to the Detroit Red Wings for 2021 2nd round pick.

Vancouver Canucks get a 2nd round pick in exchange for Braden Holtby and Brandon Sutter.

Vancouver Canucks lose Olli Juolevi to the Seattle Kraken in the expansion draft.

Before the 2021 draft, two trades are made:

Alex Edler is traded to the Buffalo Sabres for Linus Ullmark.

The Canucks and Sabres swap pending UFAs and they both fill much-needed holes on their roster with this trade.

The Canucks also trade Tanner Pearson, Jake Virtanen, Jay Beagle to the St.Louis Blues for Jordan Kyrou, Zach Sanford, 2021 3rd round pick.

This is a good deal for both teams because all players involved in the deal could use a change in scenery.

The Vancouver Canucks win the draft lottery and move up a slot in the draft.

2021 draft

3-Brandt Clarke

35-Samu Tuomaala

52-Ronan Schmidt

67-Jayden Grubbe

78-Josh Doan

The Vancouver Canucks draft 2 top-notch defensive prospects in Brandt Clarke and Ronan Schmidt, as well as three solid forwards in Samu Tuomaala, Jayden Grubbe, and Josh Doan.

After the draft, one major trade is made:

Vancouver Canucks acquire Pavel Buchnevich from the New York Rangers for Jordan Kyrou, Brogan Rafferty, 2023 2nd round pick.

The Canucks acquire Pavel Buchnevich from the Rangers to fill a much-needed void on the Right Wing alongside Elias Pettersson.

Vancouver Canucks re-sign a few players:

Linus Ullmark-5yrs/4.5M per

Elias Pettersson-3yrs/7M per

Quinn Hughes-3yrs/5M per

Pavel Buchnevich-4yrs/5M per

Zach Sanford-2yrs/1.8M per

Tiro Hirose-1yr deal

Vancouver Canucks re-sign All other RFAs

Vancouver Canucks sign Casey Cizikas to a 4yr deal worth 3.5M per season, Joel Armia to a 3yr deal worth 2.8 million per season.

The Vancouver Canucks miss the playoffs again in the 2021-22 season and finish the season with the 5th worst record in the league.

The Vancouver Canucks win the lottery again, but this team moves up 3 spots to land the 2nd pick in the draft.

Before the 2022 draft, one trade is made:

Vancouver Canucks trade JT Miller, Nate Schmidt to the Philadelphia Flyers for Phil Myers, 2022 1st round pick.

2022 draft

2-Matthew Savoie

15-Ivan Miroshichenko

34-Simon Forsmark

The Vancouver Canucks draft Matthew Savoie, Ivan Miroshishenko, and Simon Forsmark, three terrific prospects who will be a huge part of the team in the future.

Vancouver Canucks re-sign a few players:

Tyler Motte-3yrs/1.75M per

Matthew Highmore-1yrs/1M per

Vancouver Canucks re-sign All other RFAs

Vancouver Canucks sign Brayden McNabb to a 3 yr deal worth 3M per season.

The Vancouver Canucks make the playoffs in the 2022-23 season, but get eliminated in the 2nd round by the Edmonton Oilers.

Vancouver Canucks buy out Tyler Myers; this buyout will cost them 333k per season until 2025.

2023 draft

22-Otto Stenberg

The Vancouver Canucks draft Otto Stenberg, a dynamic point-scoring forward.

Vancouver Canucks re-sign a few players:

Bo Horvat-7yrs/6.25M per

The Vancouver Canucks make a deep Stanley Cup run in the 2023-24 season, only to lose in the Stanley Cup Finals to the Carolina Hurricanes.

Vancouver Canucks re-sign Elias Pettersson to an 8 yr deal worth 8.5 million per season, Quinn Hughes to an 8 yr deal worth 6.5M per season.

Vancouver Canucks re-sign All other RFAs

By the 2024-25 season, the Vancouver Canucks have put together a Stanley Cup caliber team.

Fantasy Hockey Forwards to Trade For

Here is a list of Players who you should consider trading for in Fantasy Hockey. Tage Thompson Tage Thompson had very high expectations of him heading into this season but has been a massive disappointment to this point in the season with only 7 goals, 8 assists, 4 PPP, 60 SOG, and 99 FW. Thompson has been better after coming back from injury and you would think that he is going to eventually start putting points in bunches. Because of how bad Thompson's statline is this season. it would be a good idea to trade for him because you may not have to give up a lot in return.  Elias Lindholm Elias Lindholm is another player who has had a slow start to the season with only 7 goals, 10 assists, 3 PPP, 68 SOG, and 297 FW so far this season. Lindholm is definitely going to want to play better if he wants to increase his value for his next contract and also showcase himself for a trade at the deadline. If Lindholm gets dealt to a contending team, his fantasy value would drastically improve b

TIPS FOR DECIDING WHO TO KEEP FOR KEEPER/DYNASTY LEAGUES

Keeper fantasy leagues are a variation of traditional fantasy sports leagues where participants are allowed to keep a certain number of players from their previous season's roster onto their team for the upcoming season. The number of players that can be kept, as well as the specific rules regarding keeping players, vary from league to league and are typically determined by the league commissioner or by a set of agreed-upon rules among league members. In a keeper league, the kept players usually come with a cost, such as forfeiting a specific draft pick in the upcoming draft or having to pay a predetermined fee. This adds a strategic element to the game, as managers must decide which players to keep based on their performance, potential, and value relative to the cost of keeping them. Keeper leagues often provide a deeper level of engagement and strategy compared to standard fantasy leagues because managers need to consider long-term player development and roster management beyond

FANTASY HOCKEY WAIVER WIRE PLAYERS TO PICKUP

Here are some players you should pickup in Fantasy Hockey, sorted by position. Center Colton Sissons Colton Sissons is one of the best 4th line centers in the league, but in fantasy hockey, he could be even more valuable than he actually is in real life because of what he provides in the peripheral categories. So far this season Sissions has 5 goals, 1 PPP, 1 SHP, 12 PIM, 20 SOG, 89 FW, 15 hits, and 9 blocks. This is a terrific stat line and although you can't count on Sissons scoring a ton, he will fill out the FW, Hits, and blocks usually. Sissons is owned in 6% of fantasy leagues, snag him up while you can. Nick Bjugstad Nick Bjugstad is having an excellent year so far with the Arizona Coyotes, in fact he has played so well that he earned himself a promotion to play on the 2nd line along with Mattias Maccelli and Lawson Crouse. Bjugstad also gets time on Arizona's 2nd PP unit and 2nd PK unit. Bjugstad may not be a name who stands out to casuals, but his fantasy stat line is
