WHAT IF PHILADELPHIA FLYERS TRADE GIROUX AND VORACEK

After getting eliminated in the 2nd round of the Playoffs by the New York Islanders, the Philadelphia Flyers might look to retool their team.

The two players that get talked about the most in trade talks are Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek;'

although it's not likely they get trade, i'm going to explore what would happen if they did decide to trade them.

In the 2020 offseason, a few trades are made:

Philadelphia Flyers trade Claude Giroux to the Detroit Red Wings for Anthony Mantha, Filip Zadina, 1st round pick 2022.

The Detroit Red Wings need a star player to pair with Dylan Larkin and Claude Giroux would certainly fit that criteria; on the other hand, the Flyers would get Anthony Mantha and Filip Zadina, two very good forwards and a 1st round pick.

The Flyers also trade Jakub Voracek, Nolan Patrick to the Buffalo Sabres for Victor Olofsson, Tage Thompson, 1st round pick 2021.

The Sabres would love to add another highly skilled winger to play in the top 6 along with Taylor Hall and Jack Eichel, so Jakub Voracek would be an awesome fit, Nolan Patrick is still on IR but if he gets healthy, he could be a nice piece for them down the road. For the Flyers, Victor Olofsson is a solid goal scoring winger and Tage Thompson ins a solid prospect but the key to this deal is the 1st round pick.

Shayne Gostisbehere is traded to the Boston Bruins for Nick Ritchie, 2nd round pick 2021.

The Bruins need a LD, while the Flyers don't need any defenseman so this makes sense for both teams.

After clearing a ton of cap space, the Flyers make a huge blockbuster trade:

Philadelphia Flyers trade Anthony Mantha, Joel Farabee, Morgan Frost, Yegor Zamula, 1st round pick 2022 to the Winnipeg Jets for Patrik Laine.

The Flyers get an elite goal scorer in Patrik Laine while the Jets get Anthony Mantha, three very good prospects and a 1st round pick.

Philadelphia Flyers re-sign Victor Olofsson to a 5 yr deal worth 5 million per season, Phil Myers to a 6 yr deal worth 4.25 million per season.

Without Giroux and Voracek, the Philadelphia Flyers take a step back in the 2020-21 season and get eliminated in the first round of the playoffs; they end up with the 16th pick in the draft.

Philadelphia Flyers buyout James Van Riemsdyk, which costs them 1.77 million until the 2025-26 season.

Philadelphia Flyers lose Oskar Lindblom to the Seattle Kraken in the expansion draft.

2021 draft results:

5 (from BUF)-Simon Edvinsson

16-Cole Sillinger

60-Tristian Lennox

The Flyers draft a top pair defenseman in Simon Edvinsson, a talented and dynamic two way center in Cole Sillinger and one of the top prospect goalies in Tritian Lennox.

Philadelphia Flyers re-sign Patrik Laine to a 8 yr deal worth 9.5 million per season.

Carter Hart is re-signed to a 8 yr deal worth 7 million per season, Travis Sanheim to a 7 year deal worth 5 million per season.

Scott Laughton is re-signed to a 3 yr deal worth 2.5 million per season, Erik Gustafsson is re-signed to a 1 yr deal worth 3 million.

Philadelphia Flyers sign Jordan Martinook to a 2 yr deal worth 2 million per season.

The young players on the Flyers take a huge jump and the Flyers end up making it to the Conference finals before being knocked out by the New York Rangers.

The Flyers have the 25th pick in the draft; this pick goes to the Winnipeg Jets as part of the Patrik Laine trade.

2022 draft results:

5 (from DET)- Rutger McGroarty

The Flyers draft a very talented and dynamic center in Rutger McGroarty, who should be their 2nd line center in a two seasons.

After the draft, two trades are made:

Philadelphia Flyers trade Kevin Hayes to the Detroit Red Wings for 3rd round pick 2023; the Flyers retain 1.14 million of Hayes' contract.

The Detroit Red Wings get their 2nd line center in Kevin Hayes for just a 3rd round pick, while the Flyers clear a ton of cap space.

Sean Couturier is traded to the Ottawa Senators for Colin White, Alex Formenton, 1st rd pick 2023 in a sign and trade.

The Senators get a grade A selke caliber center in Couturier, while the Flyers get two very good players in White and Alex Formenton and a 1st round pick.

Filip Zadina is re-signed to a 3 yr deal worth 3.5 million per season, Alex Formenton to a 3 yr deal worth 2.9 million per season.

The Flyers also re-sign Tage Thompson, Robert Hagg, Nicolas Aube Kubel to a 2 yr deal.

The Philadelphia Flyers lose in the second round of the playoffs to the New York Islanders and end up with the 17th pick in the draft.

At the 2023 draft, Philadelphia Flyers trade picks 17, 26, 2nd rd pick '24, 2nd rd pick '25 to the San Jose Sharks for pick 6

2023 draft results:

6 (from SJ)-Nate Danielson

The Flyers draft a dynamic forward in Nate Danielson, who could be a big part of the team moving forward.

Philadelphia Flyers sign Connor Clifton to a 3 yr deal worth 1.7 million per season.

By the 2023-24 season, the Philadelphia Flyers have put together a stanley cup contender.

2023-24 Philadelphia Flyers:

T.Konecny-R.McGroarty-P.Laine

V.Olofsson-C.Sillinger-F.Zadina

A.Formenton-Co.White-Ty.Foerster

T.Thompson-S.Laughton-N.Aube Kubel

I.Provorov-S.Edvinsson

P.Myers-T.Sanheim

R.Hagg-C.Clifton

C.Hart

T.Lennox

Top Prospect: N.Danielson

By trade Giroux and Voracek, Philadelphia Flyers put themselves in much better position for the future.

FANTASY HOCKEY WAIVER WIRE PLAYERS TO PICKUP

C Sean Couturier -After missing 2+ years, Sean Couturier is back and it seems like he hasn't missed a beat. Believe it or not, Couturier has been one of the top centers in the league so far with his all-around play, putting up 2 goals, 3 assists, 2 PPP, 63 FW, 24 SOG, and 1 SHP. Despite showing that he is still an elite center, Couturier is only owned in 20% of fantasy leagues. Pick him up now, while you still can. Ryan Johansen - Serves as the Avalanche's 2nd line center and plays on their all-world 1st pp unit. Despite not being the player he used to be, Johansen is still a valuable fantasy asset because of the players he plays with. Johansen has 4 goals and 4 PPPs along with 63 FW so far this season. He is owned in 29% of fantasy leagues. Sean Monahan - Someone must have gotten a time machine and put Sean Monahan in it because he is playing like he was back when he was in his prime. Monahan has been arguably the best player on Montreal this year, with 3 goals, 6 points, 2 PP

FANTASY HOCKEY WAIVER WIRE PLAYERS TO PICKUP

Here are some players you should pickup in Fantasy Hockey, sorted by position. Center Colton Sissons Colton Sissons is one of the best 4th line centers in the league, but in fantasy hockey, he could be even more valuable than he actually is in real life because of what he provides in the peripheral categories. So far this season Sissions has 5 goals, 1 PPP, 1 SHP, 12 PIM, 20 SOG, 89 FW, 15 hits, and 9 blocks. This is a terrific stat line and although you can't count on Sissons scoring a ton, he will fill out the FW, Hits, and blocks usually. Sissons is owned in 6% of fantasy leagues, snag him up while you can. Nick Bjugstad Nick Bjugstad is having an excellent year so far with the Arizona Coyotes, in fact he has played so well that he earned himself a promotion to play on the 2nd line along with Mattias Maccelli and Lawson Crouse. Bjugstad also gets time on Arizona's 2nd PP unit and 2nd PK unit. Bjugstad may not be a name who stands out to casuals, but his fantasy stat line is

Fantasy Hockey Forwards to Trade For

Here is a list of Players who you should consider trading for in Fantasy Hockey. Tage Thompson Tage Thompson had very high expectations of him heading into this season but has been a massive disappointment to this point in the season with only 7 goals, 8 assists, 4 PPP, 60 SOG, and 99 FW. Thompson has been better after coming back from injury and you would think that he is going to eventually start putting points in bunches. Because of how bad Thompson's statline is this season. it would be a good idea to trade for him because you may not have to give up a lot in return.  Elias Lindholm Elias Lindholm is another player who has had a slow start to the season with only 7 goals, 10 assists, 3 PPP, 68 SOG, and 297 FW so far this season. Lindholm is definitely going to want to play better if he wants to increase his value for his next contract and also showcase himself for a trade at the deadline. If Lindholm gets dealt to a contending team, his fantasy value would drastically improve b
