Mercer plays a lot bigger than his 6’0 frame, excelling below the hash marks and around the crease.
He's one of the better goal scorers in the draft and he has built on that with an increasingly well-rounded two-way game.
Mercer is a high-IQ player who uses his reads well. He finds teammates with regularity and has a knack for finding the back of the net from opportunistic spots.
Even though he was slowed by injury his draft year, when he did play he was always a difference maker for his teams whether it was Drommondville or Chicoutimi.
