Why Nashville Predators should be Buyers

The Nashville Predators currently hold the 1st wildcard spot in the western conference, but if they want to maintain that position, they will need to strengthen their team at the deadline and add some more pieces to the team. This is what the Nashville Predators should do at the Trade Deadline. Trades: Nashville Predators acquire John Klingberg from the Dallas Stars for Dante Fabbro, Cody Glass, 2023 1st round pick. John Klingberg gives the Predators another high-end, puck-moving defenseman, which should help propel the team to new heights. Nashville Predators also trade Nick Cousins, Rocco Grimaldi, 2024 3rd round pick to the Arizona Coyotes for Lawson Crouse, Riley Nash, Christian Fischer. If the Predators make it to the Conference Finals, the 3rd round pick becomes a 2nd round pick. The Predators add some depth forwards to the team with the additions of Lawson Crouse, Riley Nash, and Christian Fischer; these players will bring some much-needed sandpaper to the 4th line. The Pr...

Why Seattle Kraken Should be Sellers

The Seattle Kraken has not had a great inaugural season, and has been a great disappointment, so they should definitely consider being sellers at the deadline and concentrate on the future. This is what the Seattle Kraken should do at the Trade Deadline. Trades: Seattle Kraken trade Mark Giordano to the Calgary Flames for Nikita Zadorov, Dillon Dube, and a 2023 2nd round pick. If the Flames make the second round of the playoffs, the 2nd round pick becomes a 1st round pick. This trade makes sense for both teams; Giordano goes back to Calgary, while Seattle gets Nikita Zadorov, a top 6 defenseman, a young, versatile forward in Dillon Dube, and a conditional 2nd pick, which could turn into a 1st. Seattle Kraken also trades Jared McCann, Calle Jarnkrok to the Anaheim Ducks for Sam Steel, Sonny Milano. The Anaheim Ducks are making a push for the playoffs, so Jared McCann and Calle Jarnkrok should help provide some depth scoring for them; on the other side of the trade, the Kraken get a soli...

Why Chicago Blackhawks should be Sellers

Chicago Blackhawks have the 3rd worst record in the Western Conference, and most likely will miss the playoffs again, so it would make sense for them to trade away the veteran players at the trade deadline. This is what the Chicago Blackhawks should do at the trade deadline. Trades: Chicago Blackhawks make a three-team trade with the Edmonton Oilers and Arizona Coyotes Chicago Blackhawks get Mikko Koskinen, Alex Galchenyuk, Ryan Dzingel, 2nd round pick '23 (from EDM). Edmonton Oilers get Marc Andre Fleury, 7th round pick '23 (from ARI). Arizona Coyotes get Brett Connolly, Kyle Turris, Devin Shore, 4th round pick '23 (from EDM). This trade helps out all teams involved; the Oilers get Marc-Andre Fleury, he gives them a veteran goalie they have been desperately looking for. In order for the trade to work out, the Oilers and Blackhawks need to move salaries, so Brett Connly, Kyle Turris, and Devin Shore are moved to the Coyotes along with a 4th round pick from Edmonton. Chicag...

Why Dallas Stars should be Sellers at the Deadline

The Dallas Stars are sitting just outside the final playoff spot in the Western Conference but I think it would be better for them to be sellers at the deadline, so they can rebuild and retool their team a bit. This is why the Dallas Stars should be Sellers and what they should do at the NHL trade deadline. Trades Dallas Stars trade Joe Pavelski, Jani Hakanpaa to the New York Rangers for Filip Chytil, Nils Lundkvist, 2022 1st round pick. Pavelski would add a veteran goal scorer with plenty of playoff experience to a team that is still pretty young; On the Dallas side of the trade, they would get Filip Chytil and Nils Lundkvist, two talented young players and a 1st round pick. Dallas Stars also trade Alex Radulov to the Boston Bruins for Craig Smith, 2022 2nd round pick. If the Bruins make the 2nd round of the playoffs, the 2nd round pick becomes a 1st round pick. Dallas will also retain $1.5 million of Radulov's contract as part of the deal. The Stars sway Radulov for Craig Smith ...

Why Philadelphia Flyers should be Sellers at the Deadline

The Philadelphia Flyers currently sit in last place in the Metropolitan division, so it would make sense for them to be sellers at the deadline, and trade away some of their players on expiring contracts, so they can start rebuilding. This is what the Philadelphia Flyers should do at this years' Trade Deadline. Trades A three-team trade is made between the Philadelphia Flyers, Colorado Avalanche, Ottawa Senators Philadelphia Flyers get Alex Newhook, JT Compher, Jacob Bernard-Docker, Alex Formenton, 2023 1st round pick (from COL) Colorado Avalanche get Claude Giroux Ottawa Senators get Andre Burakovsky, Oskar Lindblom  This trade sends Claude Giroux to the Colorado Avalanche, where he will get a chance to win a Stanley Cup. In exchange for Giroux, the Flyers get Alex Newhook, JT Compher, and a 2023 1st round pick from Colorado as well as a Jacob Bernard-Docker and Alex Formenton from Ottawa. To make the trade work cap-wise, the Senators receive Andre Burakovsky from the Avalan...

HOW CALGARY FLAMES CAN WIN THE STANLEY CUP

The Calgary Flames have gotten off to a terrific start to the season, but have cooled off since getting off to a red hot start. In order for Calgary to have a legitimate shot at winning the Stanley Cup this year, they need to add some pieces to the team. This is how the Calgary Flames could improve their chances to win the Stanley Cup this year. Needs for the Calgary Flames: 1. Top 4 LD 2. Top 6 Winger 3. Goal Scoring Depth The biggest weakness of the Calgary Flames is the left side of their defense. Noah Hanifin, Oliver Kylington, and Nikita Zadorov may be good enough for the regular season, but if the Flames are to make a deep playoff run, they need to really improve the left side of their defense and their defense in general.  Although the Flames have enough goal-scoring from their top 6, it is always a good idea to add a proven veteran player with playoff experience to their top 6. In addition, Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan have not had great performances in past playoff ser...

HOW EDMONTON OILERS CAN WIN THE STANLEY CUP

The Edmonton Oilers are in utter disarray right now, after getting off to a hot start to the season. As the season has progressed, the team's weaknesses have been exposed more and more and if they don't fix them, they won't make the playoffs at all. This is what the Oilers have to do to make the playoffs and potentially win a Stanley Cup. Issues w/ Edmonton Oilers: 1. Goaltending has not been good 2. Goal Scoring depth 3. Defensive depth The Goaltending situation for the Edmonton Oilers has not been stable to say the least. Mike Smith has been constantly hurt, so Mikko Koskinen has been the starter for most of the season, and he has proven to be quite inconsistent from game to game. In 20 appearances, Koskinen has a 3.19 GAA and .900 SV%, and Stuart Skinner started 10 games as well, with a 2.70 GAA and .916 SV%. If Mike Smith is going to be constantly hurt this year, the Oilers will definitely need to make a trade for a veteran goalie because Koskinen isn't going to get...
