MAJOR BLOCKBUSTER TRADES MADE LEADING UP TO TRADE DEADLINE

 Here are the major trades that occurred before the trade Deadline on March 2:


Jan 30: 

New York Islanders acquire forward Bo Horvat from Vancouver Canucks in exchange for forwards Anthony Beauvillier and Aatu Raty and conditional 1st-round pick in 2023 NHL Draft.


Feb 5: 

Seattle Kraken acquire defenseman Jaycob Megna from San Jose Sharks in exchange for 4th-round pick in 2023 NHL Draft.


Feb 9: 

New York Rangers acquire forward Vladimir Tarasenko, defenseman Niko Mikkola from St. Louis Blues in exchange for forward Sammy Blais, defenseman Hunter Skinner, conditional draft picks. 


Feb 17: 

Maple Leafs acquire forwards Ryan O'Reilly, Noel Acciari in 3-team deal with St. Louis Blues and Minnesota Wild; Blues acquire Mikhail Abramov, Adam Gaudette, 1st-round pick in 2023 NHL Draft (from Toronto), 

3rd-round pick in 2023 NHL Draft (from Ottawa), 2nd-round pick in 2024 NHL Draft (from Toronto) and Wild acquire 4th-round pick in 2025 NHL Draft (from Toronto) 


Feb 19: New York Rangers acquire forward Tyler Motte from Ottawa Senators in exchange for forward Julien Gauthier and a conditional 7th-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. 


Feb 22: 

Chicago Blackhawks acquire defenseman Nikita Zaitsev, a 2nd-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft and a 4th-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for future considerations. 

Arizona Coyotes acquire defenseman Shea Weber and a 5th-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft from the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for defenseman Dysin Mayo.


Feb 23: 

Boston Bruins acquire defenseman Dmitry Orlov and forward Garnet Hathaway from Washington Capitals in three-team trade that also included the Minnesota Wild. 

Bruins also acquire forward prospect Andrei Svetlakov from Wild; and Capitals acquire forward Craig Smith, 1st-round pick in 2023 NHL Draft, 3rd-round pick in 2024 NHL Draft and 2nd-round pick in 2025 NHL Draft;

and Wild acquire 5th-round pick in 2023 NHL Draft from Bruins. 


Feb 25: 

Winnipeg Jets acquire forward Nino Niederreiter from the Nashville Predators in exchange for a 2nd-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft. 


Feb 26:

New Jersey Devils acquire forwards Timo Meier and Timur Ibragimov, defensemen Scott Harrington and Santeri Hatakka, goalie Zachary Emond, and a 5th-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for forwards Fabian Zetterlund and Andreas Johnsson, defensemen Shakir Mukhamadullin and Nikita Okhotiuk, and a conditional 1st-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, a conditional 2nd-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, and a 7th-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.

Tampa Bay Lightning acquire forward Tanner Jeannot from the Nashville Predators in exchange for defenseman Cal Foote, a conditional 1st-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, a 2nd-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft and 3rd-, 4th- and 5th-round picks in the 2023 NHL Draft.

Vegas Golden Knights acquire forward Ivan Barbashev from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for forward Zach Dean.

Colorado Avalanche acquire defenseman Jack Johnson from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for defenseman Andreas Englund. 

Dallas Stars acquire forward Evgenii Dadonov from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for forward Denis Gurianov. 


Feb 27: 

Toronto Maple Leafs acquire defenseman Jake McCabe, forward Sam Lafferty, a conditional 5th-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft and a conditional 5th-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for forward Joey Anderson, forward Pavel Gogolev, a conditional 1st-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft and a 2nd-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft. 


Feb 28:

 Edmonton Oilers acquire defenseman Mattias Ekholm and a 6th-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft from the Nashville Predators in exchange for defenseman Tyson Barrie, forward Reid Schaefer, a 1st-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft and a 4th-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.

New York Rangers acquire forward Patrick Kane and defenseman Cooper Zech from the Chicago Blackhawks in a three-team trade that also included the Arizona Coyotes. The Blackhawks received defenseman Andy Welinski, a conditional 2nd-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft and a 4th-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft from the Rangers and defenseman Vili Saarijarvi from the Coyotes. The Coyotes acquired a 3rd-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft.

Washington Capitals acquire defenseman Rasmus Sandin from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for defenseman Erik Gustafsson and a 1st-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. 

Minnesota Wild acquire Gustav Nyquist from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for a 5th-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.

Carolina Hurricanes acquire forward Jesse Puljujarvi from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for the rights to unsigned draft choice forward Patrik Puistola 

Minnesota Wild acquire forward Marcus Johansson from the Washington Capitals in exchange for a 3rd-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft. 

New York Islanders acquire forward Pierre Engvall from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for a 3rd-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.

Toronto Maple Leafs acquire defenseman Luke Schenn from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for a 3rd-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.


Mar 1: 

Ottawa Senators acquire defenseman Jakob Chychrun from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for a 1st-round pick in 2023 NHL Draft, a 2nd-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft and a 2nd-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft. 

Columbus Blue Jackets acquire goalie Jonathan Quick, a conditional 1st-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft and a 3rd-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov and goalie Joonas Korpisalo.

Vancouver Canucks acquire defenseman Filip Hronek and a 4th-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for a conditional 1st-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft and 2nd-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. 

Colorado Avalanche acquires forward Lars Eller from the Washington Capitals in exchange for a 2nd-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft.

Carolina Hurricanes acquire defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for a 3rd-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft. 

Pittsburgh Penguins acquire forward Mikael Granlund from the Nashville Predators in exchange for a 2nd-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.

San Jose Sharks acquire forward Vladislav Namestnikov from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for forward Michael Eyssimont.

Vegas Golden Knights acquire forward Teddy Blueger from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for defenseman Peter DiLiberatore and a 3rd-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.

Los Angeles Kings acquire unsigned draft rights to goaltender Erik Portillo from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for a 3rd-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.

Despite not being the player he used to be, Johansen is still a valuable fantasy asset because of the players he plays with. Johansen has 4 goals and 4 PPPs along with 63 FW so far this season. He is owned in 29% of fantasy leagues. Sean Monahan - Someone must have gotten a time machine and put Sean Monahan in it because he is playing like he was back when he was in his prime. Monahan has been arguably the best player on Montreal this year, with 3 goals, 6 points, 2 PP

FANTASY HOCKEY WAIVER WIRE PLAYERS TO PICKUP

Here are some players you should pickup in Fantasy Hockey, sorted by position. Center Colton Sissons Colton Sissons is one of the best 4th line centers in the league, but in fantasy hockey, he could be even more valuable than he actually is in real life because of what he provides in the peripheral categories. So far this season Sissions has 5 goals, 1 PPP, 1 SHP, 12 PIM, 20 SOG, 89 FW, 15 hits, and 9 blocks. This is a terrific stat line and although you can't count on Sissons scoring a ton, he will fill out the FW, Hits, and blocks usually. Sissons is owned in 6% of fantasy leagues, snag him up while you can. Nick Bjugstad Nick Bjugstad is having an excellent year so far with the Arizona Coyotes, in fact he has played so well that he earned himself a promotion to play on the 2nd line along with Mattias Maccelli and Lawson Crouse. Bjugstad also gets time on Arizona's 2nd PP unit and 2nd PK unit. Bjugstad may not be a name who stands out to casuals, but his fantasy stat line is

Fantasy Hockey Forwards to Trade For

Here is a list of Players who you should consider trading for in Fantasy Hockey. Tage Thompson Tage Thompson had very high expectations of him heading into this season but has been a massive disappointment to this point in the season with only 7 goals, 8 assists, 4 PPP, 60 SOG, and 99 FW. Thompson has been better after coming back from injury and you would think that he is going to eventually start putting points in bunches. Because of how bad Thompson's statline is this season. it would be a good idea to trade for him because you may not have to give up a lot in return.  Elias Lindholm Elias Lindholm is another player who has had a slow start to the season with only 7 goals, 10 assists, 3 PPP, 68 SOG, and 297 FW so far this season. Lindholm is definitely going to want to play better if he wants to increase his value for his next contract and also showcase himself for a trade at the deadline. If Lindholm gets dealt to a contending team, his fantasy value would drastically improve b
