How Arizona Coyotes can win their First Stanley Cup

The Arizona Coyotes have never won a Stanley Cup in their franchise history, so my goal is to turn the Arizona Coyotes into a Championship caliber team. It will take some time to do so, but the Coyotes could potentially be a Stanley Cup Champion if they rebuild correctly.

At the Expansion draft, the Coyotes make a major trade.

The Arizona Coyotes trade Phil Kessel to the Seattle Kraken for their 2023 1st round pick.

Phil Kessel gives the Seattle Kraken a household name that can draw people to the game, and at the same time give Kessel a change of scenery.

Arizona Coyotes lose Antti Raanta to the Seattle Kraken in the Expansion draft.

Before the 2021 Draft, two trades are made:

Arizona Coyotes trade the rights to Niklas Hjalmarsson, Derick Brassard to the Tampa Bay Lightning for the rights to Blake Coleman.

This is a good trade for both teams because the Lightning probably isn't going to be able to re-sign Coleman, so they get two veteran players who could be signed for a cheap contract, in exchange for Coleman.

The Coyotes also trade Lawson Crouse, Tyler Pitlick, 2022 2nd rd pick to the Philadelphia Flyers for Nolan Patrick.

Nolan Patrick wants out of Philly, and a change of scenery with Arizona might just be what he needs to turn his career around.

2021 Draft

37-Ayrton Martino

43-Logan Mailoux

107-Nika Huuhtanen

126-Kalle Ervasti

The Arizona Coyotes drafted a few solid prospects, but they will need time to develop before they are NHL ready.

Arizona Coyotes re-sign a few players:

Alex Goligoski-2yrs/4.75M per

Blake Coleman-4yrs/4.5M per

Conor Garland-5yrs/4.25M per

Michael Bunting-2 yrs/2M per

Nolan Patrick-2yrs/1.75M per

Adin Hill-3yrs/1.5M per

Jordan Oesterle-2 yrs/1.4M per

Dryden Hunt+John Hayden-1 yr deals

Arizona Coyotes re-sign all other RFAs.

Arizona Coyotes make a few free-agent signings:

Tomas Tatar-4yrs/5.5M per

Ben Hutton-1 yr/800k

At the trade deadline, the Arizona Coyotes trade Darcy Kuemper to the Edmonton Oilers for Mikko Koskinen, Ethan Bear, 2022 2nd round pick.

The Edmonton Oilers get Darcy Kuemper to hold down the fort in goal; he will be a huge addition for a team in dire need of goaltending, even if it is a rental.

The Arizona Coyotes plummet in the Standings without Darcy Kuemper and end up with the worst record in the NHL. Unfortunately, the lottery isn't in favor of the Coyotes, and they slide to the 2nd pick in the draft.

Before the 2022 draft, two trades are made:

Arizona Coyotes trade Oliver Ekman-Larsson to the Boston Bruins for Jeremy Lauzon, Urho Vaakanainen, Jack Studnicka, and 1st round picks in 2022, 2023.

The Bruins get Oliver Ekman-Larsson, a star defenseman who thrives on the powerplay, and he would fit perfectly on the Bruins 1st powerplay unit.

The Coyotes also trade Nick Schmaltz, Christian Fischer, 2023 1st round pick to the New York Rangers for Mika Zibanejad.

Mika Zibanejad is due for a new contract, and the Rangers may not be able to give him what he wants, so they get what they can for him.

2022 Draft

2-Matthew Savoie

28-Devin Kaplan

33-Simon Forsmark

57-Jonathan Lekkerimaki

65-Maveric Lamoureux

The Coyotes hit a home run at the 2022 draft by adding Matthew Savoie, Devin Kaplan, and Simon Forsmark to an already good prospect pool.

After the draft, the Coyotes make two trades.

Arizona Coyotes acquire Anton Khudobin from the Dallas Stars for 3rd rd pick '23.

Anton Khudobin is still a reliable backup goalie; he will form a respectable tandem in goal along with Adin Hill.

Cayden Primeau is acquired from the Montreal Canadiens for 5th rd pick '23, 3rd rd pick '24.

Cayden Primeau gives the Coyotes some depth in goal and would give them a three-man rotation.

Arizona Coyotes re-sign a few players:

Mika Zibanejad-7yrs/9M per

Ethan Bear-2yrs/2M per

Barrett Hayton-2yrs/1.75M per

Jeremy Lauzon-2yrs/1.5M per

Urho Vaakanainen-2yrs/900k per

Cayden Primeau-2yrs/800k per

Jack Studnicka-2yrs/800k per

Arizona Coyotes re-sign all other RFAs.

Arizona Coyotes make two free-agent signings:

Seth Jones-7yrs/7.5M per

Chris Tierney-3yrs/3.5M per

With the additions of Mika Zibanejad and Seth Jones, the Arizona Coyotes are a much-improved team, but their young core players aren't ready to make the jump to the next level, so they still end up missing the playoffs.

The Arizona Coyotes have the 1st round pick from the Seattle Kraken in 2023 in the Phil Kessel trade; The Kraken finished with the 3rd worst record in the league but slid in the lottery to the 5th pick in the draft.

At the 2023 draft, the Arizona Coyotes trade pick 5 to the San Jose Sharks for pick 8, 2nd rd pick '2024.

2023 Draft

8-Emil Jarventie

The Arizona Coyotes draft Emil Jarventie, a highly skilled left-winger, who should help them out down the road.

Arizona Coyotes re-sign a few players:

Victor Soderstrom-3yrs/4.25M per

Nolan Patrick-3yrs/2.75M per

Michael Bunting-2yrs/2.4M per

Arizona Coyotes re-sign all other RFAs.

Arizona Coyotes sign two key free agents:

Alex Killorn-3yrs/4.5M per

Connor Clifton-3yrs/1.25M per

The Arizona Coyotes make it to the second round in the 2023-24 season, before losing in 6 games to the eventual Stanley Cup Champions, Colorado Avalanche.

After the season, the Arizona Coyotes make two major trades:

Arizona Coyotes acquire Juuse Saros from the Nashville Predators for Adin Hill, Logan Mailloux, 2024 1st round pick.

The Predators, who have decided to hand over the reins to Yaroslav Askarov get a very package in return for Juuse Saros.

Christian Dvorak is traded to the New Jersey Devils for 2025 2nd round pick.

The Coyotes don't need Christan Dvorak anymore, so they trade him for the Devils for a draft pick.

Arizona Coyotes re-sign a few players:

Juuse Saros-6yrs/5.2M per

Urho Vaakanainen-3yrs/3M per

Barrett Hayton-3yrs/2.75M per

Jeremy Lauzon-3yrs/1.6M per

Cayden Primeau-2yrs/1.35k per

Jack Studnicka-2yrs/1M per

Arizona Coyotes re-sign all other RFAs.

By the 2024-25 Season, the Arizona Coyotes have put together a Stanley Cup caliber team.

2024-25 Arizona Coyotes

T.Tatar-M.Zibanejad-C.Keller

A.Killorn-M.Savoie-B.Hayton

B.Coleman-C.Tierney-D.Kaplan

M.Bunting-N.Patrick-J.Studnicka

S.Forsmark-S.Jones

U.Vaakanainen-V.Soderstrom

J.Lauzon-C.Clifton

J.Saros

C.Primeau

Top Prospects: A.Martino, J.Lekkerimaki, E.Jarventie, N.Huuhtanen, K.Ervasti, M.Lamoureux

The Arizona Coyotes have now assembled a young and dangerous team that could be in contention to win a Stanley Cup in the next few years.

Fantasy Hockey Forwards to Trade For

Here is a list of Players who you should consider trading for in Fantasy Hockey. Tage Thompson Tage Thompson had very high expectations of him heading into this season but has been a massive disappointment to this point in the season with only 7 goals, 8 assists, 4 PPP, 60 SOG, and 99 FW. Thompson has been better after coming back from injury and you would think that he is going to eventually start putting points in bunches. Because of how bad Thompson's statline is this season. it would be a good idea to trade for him because you may not have to give up a lot in return.  Elias Lindholm Elias Lindholm is another player who has had a slow start to the season with only 7 goals, 10 assists, 3 PPP, 68 SOG, and 297 FW so far this season. Lindholm is definitely going to want to play better if he wants to increase his value for his next contract and also showcase himself for a trade at the deadline. If Lindholm gets dealt to a contending team, his fantasy value would drastically improve b

TIPS FOR DECIDING WHO TO KEEP FOR KEEPER/DYNASTY LEAGUES

Keeper fantasy leagues are a variation of traditional fantasy sports leagues where participants are allowed to keep a certain number of players from their previous season's roster onto their team for the upcoming season. The number of players that can be kept, as well as the specific rules regarding keeping players, vary from league to league and are typically determined by the league commissioner or by a set of agreed-upon rules among league members. In a keeper league, the kept players usually come with a cost, such as forfeiting a specific draft pick in the upcoming draft or having to pay a predetermined fee. This adds a strategic element to the game, as managers must decide which players to keep based on their performance, potential, and value relative to the cost of keeping them. Keeper leagues often provide a deeper level of engagement and strategy compared to standard fantasy leagues because managers need to consider long-term player development and roster management beyond

FANTASY HOCKEY WAIVER WIRE PLAYERS TO PICKUP

Here are some players you should pickup in Fantasy Hockey, sorted by position. Center Colton Sissons Colton Sissons is one of the best 4th line centers in the league, but in fantasy hockey, he could be even more valuable than he actually is in real life because of what he provides in the peripheral categories. So far this season Sissions has 5 goals, 1 PPP, 1 SHP, 12 PIM, 20 SOG, 89 FW, 15 hits, and 9 blocks. This is a terrific stat line and although you can't count on Sissons scoring a ton, he will fill out the FW, Hits, and blocks usually. Sissons is owned in 6% of fantasy leagues, snag him up while you can. Nick Bjugstad Nick Bjugstad is having an excellent year so far with the Arizona Coyotes, in fact he has played so well that he earned himself a promotion to play on the 2nd line along with Mattias Maccelli and Lawson Crouse. Bjugstad also gets time on Arizona's 2nd PP unit and 2nd PK unit. Bjugstad may not be a name who stands out to casuals, but his fantasy stat line is
