Fantasy Hockey Forwards to Trade For

Here is a list of Players who you should consider trading for in Fantasy Hockey.

Tage Thompson

Tage Thompson had very high expectations of him heading into this season but has been a massive disappointment to this point in the season with only 7 goals, 8 assists, 4 PPP, 60 SOG, and 99 FW. Thompson has been better after coming back from injury and you would think that he is going to eventually start putting points in bunches. Because of how bad Thompson's statline is this season. it would be a good idea to trade for him because you may not have to give up a lot in return.

Elias Lindholm

Elias Lindholm is another player who has had a slow start to the season with only 7 goals, 10 assists, 3 PPP, 68 SOG, and 297 FW so far this season. Lindholm is definitely going to want to play better if he wants to increase his value for his next contract and also showcase himself for a trade at the deadline. If Lindholm gets dealt to a contending team, his fantasy value would drastically improve because he would get to play with better players.

Nico Hiscier

Nico Hischier has been on fire since coming back from inury, putting up 3 goals, 5 assists, 2 PPP, 15 SOG, 81 FW and a +6 rating in the last 2 weeks. Hischier is playing like everyone thought he would at the beginning of the season and is dominating play at both ends of the ice. Wise fantasy managers should try to get Hischier because some owners may be eager to trade him while his value is high.

Connor Bedard

Connor Bedard has been playing better the past two weeks of the season, putting up 1 goal, 5 assists, 3 PPP and 27 SOG, which is solid for a rookie. You can forget about trying to trade for Bedard in a keeper or dynasty league because Bedard will be one of the top players in 2 to 3 years. However, if you are in a standard, year-to-year league, I think you can attempt to acquire him, in the hopes he has a crazy second half.

Matt Boldy

After a slow start to the season, Matt Boldy has been on a bit of a tear lately, putting up 6 goals, 2 assists, 3 PPP, 24 SOG, and 2 GWG in the last two weeks of the season. Matt Boldy is back to playing like his true self, so owners might be reluctant to trade him but you can always try to trade for him because his overall stats on the season aren't very good. Try to get Matt Boldy while you still can.

Brayden Schenn

Brayden Schenn is playing much better recently than he was at the beginning of the season but even when he isn't scoring Brayden Schenn is a valuable player to own in Fantasy. Schenn is not only a player who will get 20 goals and 50 points, but he also will win a good number of Faceoffs and he isn't afraid to throw his weight around. For this reason, Schenn is one of the best players to have in CAT league, and you should try to trade players like that.

Anders Lee

After a slow start to the season, Anders Lee has been on a heater lately, putting up 3 goals, 2 assists, 1 PPP, and 18 SOG in the last two weeks of the season, after putting up 4 Goals, 1 Assists before this recent stretch. Anders Lee is a perennial 20-goal scorer, so there should be no doubt about his ability to score goals, even if he doesn't get as many assists, he will still be able to score goals. Lee is a player you want to have in the second half of the season, try to trade for him, while his value is low.

Andrei Svechnikov

Andrei Svechnikov has had a bad start to the season, mostly due to the fact he started the year on IR and never really got into a grove and looks to be going back on the shelf now. Svechnikov only has 1 goal, 10 assists, 4 PPP, and 41 SOG this season, so his trade value has never been lower, which is why managers really should look to acquire him now. When healthy Svechnikov is a lethal game-changer, who is a perennial 20-30 goal scorer, who also doesn't shy away from physical play.

Martin Necas

Another Carolina Hurricane who has struggled early this season is Martin Necas, who has 7 goals, 12 assists, 4 PPP, 64 SOG, and 2 GWGs, but he is a whopping -10. Necas's struggles this season are tied to the absence of Andrei Svechnikov, so it makes sense that both these players are on this players-to-trade-for list. Necas is a player you will want in the second half, so trade for him while you can.

Drake Batherson

Out of all the players on this list, Drake Batherson is one of the few who are actually playing well this season; Batherson has 8 goals, 11 assists, 6 PPP, 54 SOG, along with 26 Hits. The reason is that Batherson is always a dependable point scorer, but he is always underrated in fantasy because he isn't putting up eye-popping numbers. He may not have the reputation of a point-scoring machine, but he can get crazy hot at times, and you want to have good secondary scoring.

Fantasy Hockey Keeper League Advice

Keeper leagues add a layer of strategy and long-term planning to fantasy hockey. Every keeper league has its own unique rules and scoring settings, so adjust your strategy accordingly. By following these tips and adapting to your league's specific dynamics, you can increase your chances of long-term success. Here are some tips to help you dominate your Fantasy Hockey Keeper Leagues. Number of Keepers and League Settings When deciding on keepers, it is very important to know how many keepers the league allows you to keep and the league scoring system, because there are players that work better in H2H CAT leagues as opposed to H2H leagues with standard scoring categories.  If you can only keep a few players, focus on those who provide the most value in your specific scoring format. Keep players who excel in categories that are heavily weighted in your league (e.g., power-play points, hits, blocks, faceoffs). If the league uses Rotisserie or Points settings, you will have to take that...

2024 Offseason Preview ft. New Jersey Devils

The New Jersey Devils the playoffs in the 2023-24 season after making it into the second round of the playoffs last season, and finished the season with a total of 81 points, a 38-39-5 record; With Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier in the midst of their primes, the New Jersey Devils really need to start to buckle down and put together the pieces for a contending team. The good news is that the New Jersey Devils have the benefit of having the 10th overall pick, which they could move to acquire a netminder, and they also have plenty of cap space to add other players as well. This coming offseason is a big one for the New Jersey Devils front office because after striking out on a netminder last offseason, the pressure to acquire a netminder this offseason is immense for GM Tom Fitzgerald, who might be on the hotseat if he can't find a way to fix the mess. Before the 2024 NHL Draft, the New Jersey Devils make two major trades New Jersey Devils acquire Jacob Markstrom, Matthew Coronato, 1st...

2024 Offseason Preview ft. St. Louis Blues

The St. Louis Blues just missed out on the playoffs again in the 2023-24 season, and finished the season with a total of 92 points, a 43-33-6 record; St. Louis is one of those teams that has no direction, as they are stuck with a lot of aging players with bad contracts and are stuck in mediocracy unless they can find a way to move some of those contracts. Moving forward the Blues' primary goals should be trying to unload their bad contracts to gain picks and cap space and retool through the draft.  St. Louis has 8 draft picks in the 2024 NHL draft, this is who they should select. 2024 NHL Draft: 16-Michael Hage (C) 48-Spencer Gill (D) 56-Carson Wetsch (RW) 81-Timur Kol (D) 94-Hagen Burrows (LW) 113-Felix Lacerte (C) 145-Dawson Cowan (G) 209-Jan Golcic (D) 211-Maxim Velikov (RW) Though no big names jump out at you, this group of prospects is pretty solid and could play a vital role on the team a few years down the road. Retooling the Prospect pool is a long process, but the cr...
